RESEARCH
Through the Gorman Scholars Program, Amanda starting conducting research in Sumita Pennathur's microfluidics lab during the summer of 2016. Amanda investigated the effects of parallel flow on particle migration in a microfluidics device.
SEPARATING PARTICLES USING TANGENTIAL FLOW FILTRATION AND INERTIAL MICROFLUIDICS
The summer research culminated in a presentation, shown here.
CLIMBING GLOVE
Climbing is fun, but can be strenuous on the hands, especially the fingers. Amanda, along with a team of students in Junior level Design, created this climbing glove to take some of the weight off of a climber's fingertips, and transfer it to the wrist and arm.

Testing fingertip angles.

The final look of the climbing glove.
Route Setting
Amanda creates challenging climbing routes by combining creativity and knowledge of route setting necessities such as anchoring and ascending.
